Discussion 67: Read Pastor Cha's sermon (8-2-15), the sermon by Ray Stedman (Acts 27), and today's devotion (8-9-15).

In today's sermon, "The Captain Of The Voyage Is An Evangelist", according to the section "Summary From Last Week" (#65): How does God fulfill His promise as a God of covenant? How are we able to step back from our seat of pride? How does God use the wind as His messenger? What is the ultimate purpose of God's new creation? What is a gale to God's saints? How does God use His prophets, priests, and kings in the midst of darkness? How does this divine calling begin and spread?

In the section "Now I urge you to take some food. You will need it to survive ... Altogether there were 276 of us on board.": What happens to Paul while everyone is losing their hope of salvation in the midst of a violent storm? How does Paul proclaim the word of God's covenant? What happens although his faith was strengthened by the messenger of God in the midst of darkness? What is the purpose of God for their journey?

What important lesson do we have to learn from this passage? Who was the captain of their ship? What happened when the violent storm came and drove them in darkness for many days? How is the message of life proclaimed to them? What happens to Paul, and what is God's message given to him? How is this seen through God's eyes, and how is it explained in Romans 9:17 and Genesis 12:3? What does "graciously given" mean, and how is this the message about salvation? Even though we can't tell they are truly saved, how does this scene deliver a clear message to us, from a spiritual perspective?

In the section "The soldiers planned to kill the prisoners ... But the centurion wanted to spare Paul's life ... In this way everyone reached land in safety.":

In the "Conclusion":
